The refrigerator is perhaps the most important and important type of equipment in the kitchen. After all, it keeps food fresh, which means that it allows us to maintain good health and protects the body from infection by harmful microorganisms.
Choosing a refrigerator is not easy, because home appliance stores offer an unprecedented variety of configurations and brands. Despite this diversity, refrigerators are divided into two large groups: with and without no frost. Accordingly, their care varies significantly.
Refrigerators with the “no frost” device do not have to be defrosted, as frost will not form in them. However, care during operation they require. In it, as in an ordinary refrigerator, an unpleasant odor may appear.
To eliminate it, the inner surfaces of such a refrigerator must be washed. At your discretion, you can use mild detergents that do not contain abrasives.
If there is a smell, treat the surface of the refrigerator with a solution of ammonia: a tablespoon of ammonia per liter of water. Then wash the refrigerator as usual.
Browse through the contents of the refrigerator more often; spoiled foods must be disposed of. Keep food in tightly closed containers, then, most likely, there will be no mixing of smells in the refrigerator.
There are many odor absorbers on sale, the most common carbon filters that are mounted on the refrigerator door.
The familiar ice-making refrigerators require more thorough care. You need to defrost such a refrigerator once a month, preventing the formation of snow with a thickness of more than 5 mm.
The resulting ice should melt on its own. Disconnect the refrigerator from the mains and open the doors, to speed up the process, you can put a bowl of hot water or a heat fan.
It is strictly forbidden to remove ice with your hands or break off with a knife. By such actions you will damage the surface of the refrigerator, break the tightness of the chamber, and damage the evaporator tubes. Then wash the refrigerator with water and wipe dry.
For washing, you can use tools specially created for caring for the refrigerator. Usually such products also remove unpleasant odors.
Do not forget that external surfaces also require cleaning. Use a vacuum cleaner to dust the rear grill.
Some models of refrigerators have an evaporation tank on the back wall, it must also be cleaned. After cleaning, allow surfaces and parts to dry well and only then plug in the refrigerator.
It is not recommended to disconnect the refrigerator from the mains in the heat, because after connecting it will take more time to reach the desired temperature in the chamber, which means that energy costs will increase.
Take care of the refrigerator correctly - this is the key to long and proper operation.
